Feb 28 - Praise Continually

Today's devotion talks about examples of some who go through life encouraging us to be of good cheer. It talks of some who have 'earthly want and suffering and saintly trust and peace." These people are referred to as "human sunflowers"...instantly, I had a vision of sunflowers popping up in my head...those pictured above are a few of my Sunflowers!

I remember a song I used to sing from time to time that made my children laugh. It was of black origion.
"Shut da door da door keep out da devil
Shut da door keep da devil in da night
Shut da door da door keep out da devil
Light da candle everyting is all right
Light da candle everyting is all right."
There are those times when life seems so bad and the gift of humor is the ice breaker to the freezing soul. Thank you LORD for "A merry heart maketh good like a medicine>" Prov.17:22.

Hmmm, in re-reading my post I fear it is not clear that My Sunflowers are those Saints that encourage me...not that they require any watering from me (God know that I have a serious "black thumb"). The source of watering comes from Our Father above. He has given these sunflowers such sweet watering that they are wonderful examples to us in how to persevere in many aspects of our lives: starting from left to right, I will share how these Sunflowers have encouraged me.
1. serving in the church
2. raising children/family relations
3. suffering with hope
4. studying God's Word
Thank you dear Sunflowers for your perseverance and humility. I do not thank you enough but I DO frequently give thanks to OUR FATHER for you!
Fondly, Smile
